The new version of 3C certification for plugs and sockets has been implemented since December 2013

Recently, the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) announced the implementation of a new version of the standard for mandatory certification of plug and socket products. According to the announcement, the standard for implementing 3C certification for plugs and sockets will be replaced by GB2099.2-2012 "Plugs and Socket-Outlets for Household and Similar Purposes - Part 2: Particular Requirements for Socket-Outlets for Appliances" from December 1, 2013, replacing the original GB2099.2-1997.

According to the requirements of the announcement, from August 29, 2013 to December 1, 2013, applicants may voluntarily choose to apply for certification according to the new or old standard; from December 1, 2013, the new standard shall be adopted for certification and the new standard certification certificate shall be issued.
